Fabiola Rivas received her Ph.D. from The University of Chicago, studying mechanisms of T cell co-stimulation with Dr. Tom Gajewski. She was a Jane Coffin Childs Postdoctoral Fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Greg Hannon at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, where she studied biochemical mechanisms of RNA interference. She joined the Cell editorial team in 2007, and in 2013 she became the editor of Trends in Immunology. She joined Immunity in 2015.
